Lionel 6-17341: DAIRYMEN'S LEAGUE GENERAL AMERICAN MILK CAR #779

General American Milk Cars---With their unsurpassed level of detail, the first four Lionel General American Milk Cars are already destined to become O gauge classics. These scale-sized cars are now available in four new liveries.---Built in the early 1900s, these cars contained twin glass-lined tanks to keep milk cool at about 38 degrees Fahrenheit. Many of these specialized cars saw service through the late 1950s. They frequently ran in passenger trains in order to get the perishable cargo to its destination in the shortest amount of time. The Lionel Milk Cars ride on sprung die-cast metal passenger car trucks and also include sprung buffers just like the prototype. Each car includes a removable roof that reveals two plated milk tanks inside.
